Sierra Simmons successfully defended her Masters thesis entitled “Capuchin (Cebus [Sapajus] apella] personality and relationship quality influence preference to cooperate in an iterated Prisoners Dilemma.” Congrats Sierra!

Joey McKeon was awarded the Outstanding Student Presentation Award at the Comparative Cognition Conference for his paper based on his Masters thesis.

Matt Babb successfully defended his Masters thesis. Congrats Matt!

Mayte Martinez Navarrete defended her doctoral dissertation. Congrats!

Jhonatan Saldana successfully completed his General Examination, and is now moving on to his dissertation work.

Liz Haseltine successfully defended her Masters thesis titled “For the sake of curiosity: Do monkeys choose to view counterfactual information when there is no benefit?”

Joey McKeon successfully defended his Masters thesis titled “Self-directed learning in nonhuman primates.”

Sierra Simmons just had her first first authored publication, on the frequency effect in humans and capuchins, accepted in the Journal of Comparative Psychology!

Dr. Brooke Jackson successfully defended her doctoral dissertation. It was titled “Investigating exposure learning of family-resemblance categories.” Brooke will be remaining at the LRC and GSU, starting a postdoctoral position in January. Congrats to all of them!

The LRC again sponsored the exciting and highly informative Southeastern Evolution and Human Behavior Conference, hosted at GSU’s Indian Creek Lodge. This year’s program had many exciting talks, posters, and lively discussion.
